Questions worth asking.
Everything you'd want to know before reaching out.
Who do you work with?
We work with people who have a real business, a real budget, and something specific they need built — whether that's a new ecommerce store, a custom platform, an internal tool, or something that doesn't fit a category yet. You don't need to know how it works. You just need to know what you need.
I have an idea but I'm not technical at all — can you still help me?
That's most of our clients. You don't need to know what a stack is, how APIs work, or what the difference is between frontend and backend. What you need is a clear sense of what you're trying to accomplish and why it matters. We translate the rest. Our job isn't to make you technical — it's to make sure nothing gets lost between your vision and what actually gets built.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
Ecommerce builds, SaaS products, custom platforms, internal tools, brand experiences, and plenty of things that don't have a clean name yet. If it lives on the internet and needs to work exceptionally well, it's probably in our wheelhouse. If it's not, we'll tell you that too.
Can you take an idea from concept to launch?
Yes — that's the core of what we do. Some clients come with detailed specs. Most come with a direction and a conviction. We handle discovery, scope, design, build, and launch. You stay involved throughout — we don't disappear into a build and resurface months later with something that missed the point.
What makes you different from other agencies?
Most agencies will build what you ask for. We'll tell you if what you're asking for is the right thing — and then build it better than you imagined. That comes from 7+ years and 15+ Cannes Lions worth of knowing what works, what doesn't, and what it takes to get it right.
What's the difference between hiring an agency, a freelancer, or a development shop?
A freelancer is fast and lean — and you get what you get. One person, limited bandwidth, no backup if they disappear. A development shop optimizes for throughput: lots of projects, rotating staff, process over judgment. We sit in a different place. Small, senior, and selective. You get the same people from kickoff to launch, with the experience to tell you when the plan needs to change. It costs more. It's worth more.
I've worked with developers or agencies before and it didn't go well — what makes this different?
Usually what goes wrong is one of three things: the people you talked to weren't the people who built it, nobody pushed back when the plan wasn't right, or the team was spread too thin to care. We're structured to avoid all three. Small roster of active projects. Senior people throughout. And we'll tell you when what you're asking for isn't the right call — even if it's not what you want to hear. That's not a sales pitch. It's how we've kept clients for years.
What does it cost?
Our projects are significant investments. We're not the right fit if the goal is fast and cheap — there are plenty of options for that and we'd genuinely recommend them. If you're serious about building something that performs and lasts, let's talk about what that looks like for your specific situation.
How long does a project take?
It depends entirely on what we're building. A focused launch could be four to six weeks. A full platform or product build is typically three to six months. We scope every project individually — timeline is one of the first things we nail down together.
How do I find the right team to build my idea?
Most people start in the wrong place — chasing the lowest price, posting on freelancer platforms, or hiring the first agency that responds quickly. What actually works: find a team with a track record on things similar to what you're building, be honest about your budget upfront, and pay attention to whether they ask good questions before they start talking about solutions. If they're not curious about your business before your brief, they're not the right fit.
Do I need a brief or a clear idea before reaching out?
You don't need a deck, a brief, or a spec. Some of our best projects started with a napkin sketch and a conversation. Come with whatever you have — we'll figure out the rest together.
Who will I actually be working with?
Senior people, not a rotating cast of junior staff. The people who scope your project are the people who build it. There's no handoff to a delivery team you've never met.
Why is the minimum engagement so high?
Because doing this well takes time, expertise, and attention. Cutting corners to hit a lower number means the work suffers — and we're not interested in putting our name on work that suffers. The investment reflects what it actually takes to build something worth building.
What's your process like?
We start by understanding the problem before we talk about the solution. Discovery, scope, build, launch — but it's never rigid. We work closely with clients throughout, and the best projects feel like a collaboration, not a handoff.
How many projects do you take on at once?
Every project we take on gets our full attention from start to finish. We don't overextend — when we're in, we're in.
Can you move fast if the timeline is tight?
Sometimes, yes. Focused scope and clear decisions make fast possible. If you have a hard deadline, tell us upfront — we'll tell you honestly whether it's achievable and what it would take.
Can you work with our existing codebase or team?
Yes. We've stepped into existing codebases, worked alongside in-house developers, and inherited projects mid-build. We'd rather understand what you have than assume we're starting from zero.
Do you work with early-stage startups?
Occasionally, if the project is the right fit and the founder is serious. Budget is still a real consideration — we're not the right call for an MVP on a shoestring. But if you're building something substantial and you want it done right from the start, we're open to a conversation.
Do you work with clients outside the US?
Yes. We work with clients wherever they are. If the project is the right fit, location isn't a factor.
What technologies do you build with?
Whatever is right for the project — not whatever we're comfortable with. We work across modern web stacks, headless commerce platforms, custom backends, and integrations with the tools your business already runs on. We'll always explain the tradeoffs.
Can I see examples of your work?
Some of it, yes. Certain projects are under NDA or not publicly attributed. Reach out and we'll share what's relevant to what you're trying to build — context matters more than a portfolio gallery.
Do you offer ongoing support after launch?
Yes. A launch is a beginning, not an ending. We offer retainer arrangements for clients who want continued development, optimization, or someone on call who already knows the system inside out.
